Just as the recent storm hit the north-west the prior day, Manchester City swept the visitors away at the Etihad. It was a statement 3-0 triumph for the City coach's side due to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a result that firmly established their leadership claims as they reinforced their position at the WSL pinnacle.

Back-to-Back Setbacks for Manchester United

This result signalled consecutive league losses for Marc Skinner’s side for the maiden instance since last May, putting them a sizable gap off the table toppers with their title hopes hanging by a thread.
